KARACHI: Multan Sultan’s fast bowling sensation Shahnawaz Dahani aims to stay consistent in his performance after claiming first place on the list of top wicket bearers for the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League.
The 22-year-old from Larkana took four wickets in Multan’s PSL match against Peshawar Zalmi on Sunday night, bringing his total wickets tally to 13, the most of any bowler in the tournament, so far.
They are followed by Shaheen Shah Afridi from Lahore Qalandars and Saqib Mehmood from Peshawar Zalmi, both with 12 plots each. While Saqib is not available for the Abu Dhabi leg of the tournament, Shaheen may pose a challenge for Dahani’s position.
But Dahani is confident that he will keep the job.
“I am happy to be the leader in land grabbers in the tournament and I want to continue this. I will do my best to maintain consistency in my performance and continue to take ground for my side, ”the fast pitcher told Geo News after winning the man of the match award for his performance.
“Like any other bowler, my dream is to be the best player in this tournament and I will do my best to achieve that title,” he said.
He ran out of ground in his first outing in Abu Dhabi against the Karachi Kings and conceded 46 runs, but the Multan Sultans management were confident in his ability.
“When I couldn’t play Karachi, the management gave me confidence and helped me recover from that game, come back and take ground. When the leadership of your team gives you confidence, you always do it well, “he said.
“My goal is to win games for my team,” said the young bowler.
Dahani also talked about his nature and his always smiling attitude of him, saying that he is like that all the time.
